GENERAL REGULATIONS
The competition is relegated to amateur golfers as defined by the USGA's Rules of Amateur Status. "An 'amateur golfer' is one who plays the game as a non-remunerative and non-profit-making sport and who does not receive remuneration for teaching golf or for other activities because of golf skill or reputation, except as provided in the Rules." No ranked professional golfers will be knowingly allowed into the competition; the honor system will prevail until winners are declared at which time participant status will be checked.
Teams are comprised of 2 persons: 1 Adult & 1 Junior. There are 12 team categories for each challenge.
Adults i.e. father, mother, aunt, uncle, etc. can play with as many children on separate teams as they choose. Teams must register for participation either online @
www.familygolfchallenge.com
, in-store at a retail partner location or, "walk-up" at the host venue.
New for 2012 season
: Single participants in three (3) age groups i.e. (7-11), (12-14) and an "Open" class 15+.
The driving and putting challenges are separate events. The scores earned by teams of each event are not combined.
Teams and Singles can enter each challenge as many times as they choose by paying additional entry-fees.
The results are final as determined by the Master Scorer; there will be no appeals allowed.
There will be no "mulligans" granted for any environmental interruption i.e. crowd noise, airplane flyovers, etc. Once a putting or driving motion has been initiated, it will be considered a final motion regardless of result.
In the event of tie-scores, the driving and putting will both be broken by the child's score i.e. longest drive and putting
points attained respectively.
Winners by venue will be the highest team score in each category & challenge.
In the event of a rain delay or rain out, the Event Director will decide the course of action.
Parents must sign-off on the acceptance of rules & regulations.
